ChiArts Class of 2024 seniors have been starting off their celebrations in style!

Their prom night was on May 4 which took place at the Shedd Aquarium from 7 p.m. — 11 p.m. The night started with a picture and a check in, then they traveled down below the Beluga whales and hung out below ground with some snacks and beverages. They all met up and at 8 p.m. started to head upstairs on the main floor for dinner with the fish! The seniors searched for their seats and were offered chicken or vegetarian. Although it was commonly said the food was mediocre or gross, with the chicken being barley seasoned (the salad was great though). Music was played towards the end of dinner and some folks gathered around to dance. Then around 9:30-10:00 p.m., the seniors were sent downstairs (to the cafeteria) to dance! There were also small deserts and beverages. Lots of seniors went outside and took pictures of the beautiful Chicago skyline and the lake. Some seniors danced, and some hung out. It was also widely reported that the music was mediocre and lame, as they barely played any good songs – the DJ just played twerking music – then around 10:45 p.m. the prom court was announced.

The winners were:

Sovereign, Micah.

Monarch, Solstice Blanco and Pen Silvia.

Princess, Kiersten Cooper.

Prince, Jamie Mendez.

King, Alex Weber.

And finally, the Queen, Neya Truitt.

After this there was a class picture taken, and a few more song were played as the night came to an end. Lots of students left with pick-ups, Ubers, and the CTA.

Afterwards some went out to parties, out to eat, to hang out, while others went straight home to their beds! Overall, the class of 2024’s prom seems successful, and everyone had a good time!
