Despite being an art focused high school, sports are kicking their way into the school day at ChiArts. While the school doesn’t offer any sports teams, there are sports clubs during lunch. On Monday’s in the ChiArts gym, students in the soccer club come and play during the duration of lunch from 1:20-1:55pm.
The club has been around since April 2024. Senior Dayna Gracia-Ruiz is one of the members of the club. “I really like the community,” Dayna Gracia-Ruiz says. “I feel like the people there are really funny and good at soccer” she says.
One of the clubs coaches is Mr. Ramirez, a Spanish teacher at ChiArts. “ The requirements to join are just to have fun, enjoy the sports,” Mr. Ramirez says. “
“You want to be there with people that enjoy the same thing as you,” he says.
