Scramble your way to ChiArts as the senior creative writing class debuts films from their stage writing class. Students will be screening their films in the library on Thursday, May 15th in the ChiArts film festival. Students cover topics in their film such as growth and change, relationships, and stories related to their own experiences.
“I’m most excited about the physical filmmaking aspect of this project.” Charlotte Hensley says. “I have written bits of scripts before but never picked up a camera and filmed it. I’m really interested in what the outcome will be!”
The outcome for these projects will be one full of emotion and thrill. “I hope after watching our films people see that the creative writing department can play around with many different genres” She adds. “We don’t only have to be writers, we can be writers and apply that to other art mediums.”
This is not the first time the senior creative writing department has experimented with other genres. They have shown multidisciplinary creativity throughout their sophomore and junior year and this opportunity to witness it is not one to miss out on. Take the time to have a seat with the creative writing conservatory on May 15th!
