All of Sinner’s 16 Oscar nominations

Ryan Coogler’s record-breaking film has taken the Oscars by storm.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has been nominated for a record-breaking 16 nominations. The film, released in April of 2025, blends culture and myth during its 2 hour runtime, creating such a transformative experience that it succeeded the 14 nomination record held by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (2017), La La Land (2016).

Sinner’s Nominations include:

The first time I saw Sinners was in IMAX during a tepid afternoon in Rancho Cucamonga. I spent every second transfixed. It was an experience. A remarkable one. I haven’t seen all of the films that it’s been nominated against for Best Picture (Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Train Dreams), but I’m steadfast in my belief about Sinners–it’s everything. It checks every box. From Michael B Jordan’s seamless doubling, to the consistently brilliant acting, directing, editing, and more from cast and crew, it’s a beautiful movie entrenched in so much symbolism and deliberacy that I can’t not just say: Give them all the awards.
